Χρόνια ολόκληρα
γράφω για σένα
For whole years
I have been writing about you
και δεν έγραψα ποτέ
το όνομά σου.
and never once
have I written your name.
Πολλοί θα πουν
πως δεν τόλμησα
Many will say
that I did not dare
να το προφέρω,
to speak it aloud,
άλλοι
πως δεν χρειάστηκε
others
that there was no need
μια κι ήταν
φως φανάρι
since it was
plain as daylight
πως έγραφα
για σένα,
that I was writing
for you,
άλλοι
πως το ’κανα
others
that I did it
για λόγους
τακτικής ή τεχνικής,
for reasons
of strategy or craft,
για να μην έχουν
μόνο μια ερμηνεία
so that they would not have
only one interpretation
τα γραπτά μου.

Το ότι
για σένα γράφω
That
I write for you
τίποτα
δεν αποδείχνει.
proves
nothing.
Κάνω το ίδιο
για τον εαυτό μου
I do the same
for myself
κι ούτε αυτό
αποδείχνει κάτι…
and not even that
proves anything…

said
να σε γδυθώ
to strip you away
να σε πετάξω
από πάνω μου,
to cast you
off from me,
να λυτρωθώ
to free myself
από το βάρος σου
from your weight
που με συνθλίβει.
that crushes me.
Όμως
δεν είσαι ρούχο
But
you are not clothing
ούτε δέρμα
nor skin
ούτε σάρκα…
nor flesh…
Ένας πηχτός αέρας
είσαι,
You are
a dense air,
μια πυκνή σιωπή,
a thick silence,
τόσο πυκνή
so dense
που ακόμα κι
η πιο αιχμηρή
that even
the sharpest
κραυγή μου
cry of mine
δεν σε κομματιάζει…
cannot shatter you…
